Autumn. Season of mellow fruitfulness and wonderful warming food at Howies.

October is upon us. Yikes really? 2020 has whizzed by. As the nights draw in, we tweak our menus to reflect what we all need right now, comfort and warmth.

Warming casseroles, soups, fresh bread, fresh local produce reflecting  this time of year are all on offer in our Autumn selections.

Book for lunch and enjoy 2 courses for £12.75 or 3 courses for £15.75

Early dining becomes all the more relevant with current restrictions, so treat yourself to our 2 course dinner for £15.75

It certainly beats doing the shopping, cooking and washing up yourself. And though we know it’s not quite the same as it was you can rest assured we have everything in place so you can relax and enjoy yourselves.

Howies Victoria Street Reopens Wednesday 19th August.

We are excited and delighted to announce Howies Victoria Street is reopening on Wednesday 19th August 2020….and that we are taking part in Eat Out To Help Out too…so what a great way to kick off!

We open for lunch 11.45 last reservation 2.30pm

We open for dinner 5pm last reservation 9.30pm

The team is making everything ship shape for our customers and team and inline with Howies Waterloo and Scotts Kitchen, Howies Victoria have also been awarded The Visit Scotland Good To Go green tick. Below you can see the day to day measures we have put in place and of course we will be following the ever changing Government Guidelines to the letter. 

The fun part  of all this is the menu which is being developed as you read, we are holding the tasting on Tuesday and are good to go go go on Wednesday!

Keep up to date with us on social media for all the details and some temping pics too as the kitchen gets fired up on Tuesday in preparation for reopening on Wednesday.

But for now it’s all about deep cleaning, fogging Saturday and Sunday,  reorganising our space so there is ample space between tables and  then we rebuild, and put everything back in situ so everyone feels confident and happy when we fling open our doors for business.

Howies Waterloo Reopening

Delighted and excited to be reopening the doors at Howies Waterloo on Wednesday 29th July. Book Here. 

We’ve been busy! Fitting a new staircase, a new kitchen floor and a stylish new glass screen, which as you see looks as thought it was always meant to be there.

 

Reopening is a labour of love, and if there’s one thing we all love it’s delicious Scottish seasonal food as you can see with the huge cheesy grin of our Chef who is loving theses lobsters!

We’ve a new menu to utilise the very best of our Summer seasonal produce which we are sure you will enjoy. We certainly enjoyed tasting it in advance of it going live for you.

 

We are so proud of the building, the original Calton Meeting rooms, that we like to make a song and dance about it….tumbling flowers and lots of greenery, flank the door so as you sit alfresco and enjoy your drinks, coffee, and food you’re surrounded by nature.

It’s been a challenging time for us all, but we want you to know we have taken every measure to make our restaurant as safe as possible. So much so that we have been Awarded the AA Covid Ready certificate which is proof that our team and venue have met their very stringent conditions. In addition we have the Good To Go Certificate from Visit Scotland. More assurance we are really on it.
