Howies Waterloo, 29 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh EH1 3BQ.
A unique venue in the very heart of Scotland’s Capital. Open 365 days a year.
A bow-ended Georgian dining hall with sumptuous Private Dining Room. Howies Waterloo is a wonderful location whatever the occasion.
Situated at the foot of Calton Hill we seat up to 100 in our main dining room and up to 26 in our Private room which is available morning, noon and night for meetings, lunches, launches, dinners, conferences, private parties and of course weddings.
Built in 1860 to celebrate The Battle of Waterloo, this historic location is complemented by heathery Scottish colours, upholstered chairs, natural wood tables, Scottish art and buckets of natural light.
Despite it’s grand history Howies prides itself on having a very informal relaxed atmosphere. So whether you are a babe in arms or are a spritely 100 years old, whether you’re wearing full Highland Dress or jeans, a t-shirt and carrying a rucksack, Howies will welcome you and yours with open arms.
Much research – and plenty tastings – go into Waterloo’s incredible drinks list which boasts over 20 wines by the glass, a fantastic range of Scottish craft beer and gins from all over Scotland. There is also an BYOB policy on wine and Champagne (75l bottles only).
